Writing can feel like a solitary sport. At best, it liberates. At worst, it paralyzes. There's a wide canyon of doubt that we all plummet into at times. And it's in these moments, I try to remember that writing is not meant to be done alone, not all the time. We all need help and community, especially under-published writers and contet creators.

I have been writing and teaching writing for years. I've worked for magazines, online newsrooms, published short stories, essays, nature writing, and undergone major shifts in medium and genre since I'm now mostly focused on children's literature. In short, I've tried to write the range. In addition, I have participated in and led several writing workshops. I am willing to provide editorial services for short stories, personal essays, memoir, nature writing, picture books, middle-grade fiction, and young adult fiction. I am unable to help with poetry or young adult nonfiction. Email me and we'll discuss rates based on length and level of critique desired. I'll try to meet you where you're at. I can also help edit or create content for plant-focused web content or media. I have been writing about plants for years. I’m a trained Master Naturalist and training to be an arborist. I don’t just help kids write about science, but I write about plant science myself.
